“You know what the news is, in a minute, you’re going to hear … the rest of the story.”
-Paul Harvey |
Fantasy baseball is at its core a sport of prognostication. It’s important never to get too attached to a player’s stats because all that really matters is tomorrows stats. When a manager is thinking about dropping or trading a player, his worth is entirely wrapped up in his performance for the rest of the season. With that in mind, we here at the U have come up with a projection system named HARVEY after the longtime broadcaster who was famous for his trademark cliffhanger (yes, we know that nobody listens to the radio, but trust us, it makes sense if you google it).
These fantasy baseball projections update daily and attempt to determine a players future statistical output during the season. For instance if you are considering trading Adam Dunn for Bobby Abreu in late July, wouldn’t it be great to have a sophisticated guess of which player is more likely to have have a hot streak left in them.
The HARVEY fantasy baseball projections will be available through the rest of the year for free on the website and update daily to take into account each new day of data. We will provide commentary from time to time to bring attention to specific players that have been identified by HARVEY as significant for fantasy purposes.
